Don't get Derailed.....Rebooted......

Congratulations_header_09

You stayed on the Whole30 highway another day. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the Griswolds.

Don't get derailed by the food demons.  This is the time when people start to waver.
What is your back up plan when the food demon is talking in your ear?  What are you doing to stay on track.
Take a moment to think about what it is you do to stay on track and share it with the group.

Feeling really beat up after my PT Session on Wednesday.  Took me all of yesterday to recover.  I have made a list of things I would like to do around the house tonight instead of vegging out ( especially since The Boyfriend is at work ).  So three manageable things that will make my weekend easier.  Part of my Goal this Whole30 is to try and reclaim my weekends back.  With my CoParenting situation, I am always on the road, after a long work week, and I feel at times that I have no time for me. So I am trying to spend at least an hour a day during the work week doing something around the house that will give me time back on the weekend.  So far it has not worked out as well as planned, but time to refocus and not get derailed by the Television or my Books.  On this list tonight.  Make more Almond Milk, Prep Lunch and Dinner for tomorrow, Fold Laundry ( AND PUT IT AWAY ) and If I want to watch TV get at least 45 minutes of trainer time in.

Cheating At Solitaire

Have you been “mostly” sticking to the Whole30 rules, thinking that the little tweaks you’ve been making to the program really aren’t hurting anything? Nobody is going to slap your hand if you’re adding cream to your coffee, none of us would ever know if you had just one glass of wine after a long day at work, and nobody can see you stepping on the scale “just to see” in the wee hours of the morning.
If you’re “adjusting” the plan to suit your needs (or if you’ve at least contemplated it), Melissa Joulwan tells a good tale called, “Cheating at Solitaire”:
“The entire point of the Whole30 is to see how I feel if I totally clean up my diet. Not how you feel about me or yourself if I clean up my diet. When I think about it that way, the sexiness of ‘cheating’ completely evaporates.”
Read the whole article on The Clothes Make the Girl, and ask yourself, what kind of Whole30 experience do you really want for yourself?

Setbacks: Create A Plan

Remember when we said you’d hear “planning and preparation” a lot along this journey? Now’s the time to think back on any setbacks you’ve had, and create a plan for moving forward. Shaunna of the Whole30 Forum did just that in this fantastic post – and her Whole30 proved to be a smashing success! Shauna wrote:
“Today is day 1 of my Whole30. I started last Tuesday and ended up cheating over the weekend. I'm ready to do this 110% and make no excuses.
A few things I will do to aid in my success:
  • I will be posting my meals in 'Your Whole30 Log' each day for accountability.
  • I will mark a big red X on my calendar for each day that passes.
  • I will do my best to get 8 hours of sleep each night.
  • I made a list of reasons to stick with the Whole30 and not give up. When I feel weak or tempted I will review this list!
  • I will exercise 3 times a week.
I know I can do this!”
If you’ve experienced bumps or stumbles along your own Whole30 path, now is the time to create your own plan of attack to overcome any obstacles you may be facing in the next three weeks. A few ideas to get you started:
  • Make your own list of reasons to stick to the Whole30 and not give up!
  • Make copies of your Whole30 goals and post them everywhere—the fridge, the bathroom mirror, and your desk at work.
  • Make a list of five things you can do to distract yourself when cravings hit.
  • Enlist three friends you can call at any time, day or night, when you need a little extra encouragement.
  • Commit to posting in the Whole30 Forum every day, for accountability.
  • Make a list of challenging social obligations you’ll have in the coming weeks, and how you’ll handle them.

This looks like a great breakfast for the next couple of days.
